Downtown Block Party

The first annual Downtown Iowa City Block Party will be Iowa City's biggest night event, and it is happening from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 24th throughout seven blocks and the pedestria mall downtown. It is an all ages event, so those 21 & older wishing to partake alcohol throughout will need to purchase a $10 cup. The approach to the event will be one of inclusivity, openness, and a general welcoming to everyone. 

Downtown will be closed to vehicle traffic from Clinton St. to Linn St. & DUbuque St. to Iowa Ave. to make way for an estimated 15,000+ people. Entertainment and programming will include local musicians, dueling pianos, ping pong tables, giant jenga, video game tournament, DJ competiton, silent disco, alleyway movie Westside Story at FilmScene, light painting, sand volleyball, fashion shows, and an interactive art creation.

You will pick up your glass and wristband at the event that night so that we can ID at the event. Purchasing ahead of time will allow you to move through the line quicker. PRE-SALE TICKET BOOTH WILL BE LOCATED OUTSIDE OF YOTOPIA ON THE CORNER OF CLINTON ST. AND THE PED MALL.
